I was walking through gander mt. today and a soldier walked by in uniform and it stopped me dead in my tracks. I looked at him with much admiration and even though no words were exchanged, he knew what i was sayin.

Ive got many friends and family currently enlisted and i thank them every day for what they do for me, personally.

If everyone on this forum took the time each day to say a few words to the Lord about our men and women serving, I truly believe our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines would be able to go about their business with conviction and peace in their hearts. PLEASE put them in your prayers when you speak to God.

If you want to know what's in the hearts and minds of most military personnel, listen to Toby Keith's American Soldier. That song hits the nail on the head.
That's a great tune, and to be honest I think it sums up the thoughts of a very large number of people, citizens and soldiers alike.

Thanks for putting this thread up here AF - You're a class act.

Why thank you, I'm glad someone noticed that I am a "class act". Second class is still a class, isn't it?

If the military taught me nothing else, the government treats us like second class citizens. However, I have no regrets on what I did from 1975 - 2008! After being around the world 3 times and visiting over 36 countries, I know that this is the greatest nation on earth and we have to defend her with everything we have.
