What are the topo grade lines depicting (elevation change between lines)?

Can you get in closer and give more definition (tighter line spacing)?

I agree, check the topos next to a arial photo (I use Google Earth for free arials, and you can get free topos from terraserver.microsoft.com), take into mind your usual prevailing winds (weather.com, hour-by-hour forecast, i've found to be highly accurate in my area) along with your access points and mark potential stand sites. Then head out with the climber and try to scope it out. I've found the more homework i do sitting here, the less wondering I do in the woods.

I would start looking in this spots and go from there. The conture lines are 20 ft. so theres not much detail.

Without looking at the aerials and scouting the property myself, I'd look at the three I identified because:
1. Gentle increase along a old road coming out of the woodline next to an intermittent creek;
2. Bottleneck in the woodline in the middle of a saddle next to water source (the pond); and
3. Closest point you have access between the two spots between the woods and the lowlands/marsh.
