Hold your bow, or use a bow hanger?

Which do you do while sitting on stand. I for one have a few stand where I can see a long way and can afford the luxury of using an EZ hanger. I also have a few stand where the deer pop in very quickly and without warning, in these stands, I will usually sit with bow in hand/laid across lap...

I chose depending on the situation. I always have my bow hanger set up and depending on the time of day/stand im in regulates whether im holding it or its on the hanger. In either case i really dont have to move much to grab my bow off the hanger and i like to keep my hands free for binoculars etc.

Depends. I have a holder that mounts on my stand and it sits just to my left. If I hear something or think I catch a glimpse of something then I'll hold it.

For me the EZ hanger is what guarantees that I am ready to go. That is what puts the bow within inches of my grasp. The only time that I have the bow in my hands, is when am getting ready to draw it.

I picked depends on situation. I use the EZ hangers, so the bow is always right in front of me. The only time I have it in my hands, is if I hear or see something coming.

Huh… so know one really hold it at all… I guess I do fit more into that category but may change my thinking… especially when the leaves drop.

I now have a nice pair of Nikon Monarchs (8X36mm) and love them; low light they are not bad and think I will get the chance to use them more not holding a bow… Plus my hand gets cold when I hold it…
