I need to work on my poker face
 

I went to ivy tech for a prep class for the compass test.
The math seemed to come back easy. Then the English reading teacher comes it. She gets talking about all the stuff and gets on brainstorming. She then goes on a little rant about guns. She said when i think of guns First thing that comes to mind is How kids get there parents guns and shoot someone. Or how some criminal shoots someone. Or someone gets shot by accident. She then says first thing most pro gun people just say Well i protected my family with my gun.

About half way through the rant My face must have been red as the sun because she looked at me and said i am sure your jump on me for this then finished her rant. Not sure if she said that because I was the only guy out of 5 people there. Or if my face just said it all. I thought about responding to it but did not. I figured since she teaches the lower level class i would end up there. I did not want to get into it with a teacher before i am even taking classes.

Then she said lets use shoes as a topic. She then ask me what is there first thing that pops in my mind about shoes. I said well hunting boots since it is hunting season. She said ohh so you hunt. I said yes very much.
She had a funny look like i can not believe he said that. Then she asked what is the first thing that comes in your mind about hunting boots. Then i said Waterproofing Because when i am walking through the woods looking for that next deer to hunt i want dry feet.

I almost got into a big debate about it but it would have only hurt me.

Friday when i go to take the test i think i will wear my camo. :D

haha that reminds me of my collegeenglish class a week ago. my teacher in there is a woman who doesn't like hunting or hunters. well she assigned us a paper to write about the subject of our choice, and guess what i wrote about? :Dyou guessed it. hunting. well the way i wrote the paper i emphasized what hunting means to me, how its affected me, and most importantly how its not just a hobby, but a way of life and getting back to nature like our ancestors did. the cool thing about it was that after she'd graded them she took me aside after class, and i'm thinking great she's going to lecture me about how i'm a horrible person. but instead what she said shocked me. she said my paper made her think about hunting and hunters in a way she never had before, and had convinced her that her preconcieved notions abouthunting were wrong, and that it meant more than just killing. she thanked me for "enlightening" her, as she put it, and even wished me good luck on the rest of my season! i thought it was pretty cool :)

x2 Last year I walked through the Starbucks on campus (it was right outside my classroom) the Friday before the opening of Gun season wearing nothing but my Blaze Orange. Oh yeah, there were some people p.o.'d about that one. I loved every second of that! :D
