Default What is your best advice to give?

Seeing as most seasons have already started, and there are many first-time bow hunters out there now, I thought it might be good to help them all along. They may have had some good success, no success, shots gone bad, no recovery, or just plain bad luck. I'm sure there are some in the need of good advice and tips from more experienced hunters. I know there are a lot of guys on here with a ton of knowledge and experience.

So if you had one piece of advice, your best bit of knowledge,to give a newby; what would it be? Feel free to elaborate on this.

Mine would have to be...
...know yourself and your abilities. Hunt only within your abilities and don't stretch them. If you are only accurate out to 15 yards, don't shoot at a deer beyond 15 yards. Success will come if you are patient....

Anyone else wanna add some more???

Patience, Patience, Patience!!! Bow hunting Is an up and close hunting style, not a shooting sport. Let them get close.

Most of all, have fun!!

Good luck to all of the new bow hunters this fall!!

Don't take the shot if you arn't 100% sureyou can make it,you will miss or even worse wound the deer.

Patience. If you are not seeing deer, try to figure out why. Patience and persistence will win out every day. If you are not seeing deer, chalk it up as a learning experience and do not think of it as a wasted day in the woods. HAVE FUN.

think outside of the box. why arent you seening deer? what are the conditions (weather, time of year, etc). dont just limit yourself to one set up or tactic.

First, make shore you're shooting good groups atyour effectiverange. This is most important. Second, believe in your stand selection, and as Schultzy said, be PATIENT!! Time on stand = shot opps.

For me it's persistance! Get up when you are tired, and hunt when no one else will! Has worked wonders for me!
