Is it safe to assume that this was a deer, that was alive but sadated, and that the image was taken at the exact moment that the lungs were full of air? If so I would like to see an image of the lungs and the end of an ex hale!

It doesnt matter if it were Inhaling or exhaling.. Read what the doctor wrote...
During normal respiration, the chest wall expands a small amount and the lung expand to remain constantly in contact no matter how fast or sharply you breath in. The diaphragm moves up and down a good deal as well, but again, the lungs are in continual contact with the diaphragm. The lungs never separate from chest wall
There is always a constant vacum inside the cavity, until an arrow is put through it, that is. No matter how hard you breathe, in or out, there are still attached.

Whoever said he was shooting for the top 1/3?
And plus I don't really think what the Doctors said is an opinion, it's fact.

And actually, no I haven't. But what I have wondered is how some people butcher spelling like that.

Sorry didnt know we were being graded on spelling. I will try and do better. I am just saying the top 1/3 is the greatly debated void area, and weather or not there is actually lung there or not. It is my opnion that if there is in fact lung there at some time it it at best a poor shot option. I know of no one that belives in the theroy enough toshoot all deer there.
