RE: Who Uses a stabilizer when they hunt?
I do, I use the same set-up that I target practice with. I believe that you hunt with everything on your bow that you practice with. Don't change anything. And stabilizers can quite your bow down to. It also help to steady your shot, and transfer less vibration to the arrow.

RE: Who Uses a stabilizer when they hunt?
Octain 7" for hunting and 11" for practice the weight difference isnt noticeable. And they keep your bow quiet. Used to shoot scoil on my commander but notice the octane is quieter.

RE: Who Uses a stabilizer when they hunt?
Chalk up another Limpsaver S-Coil user. I've never hunted or shot a bow without one.

I think a stabilizer loses effectiveness, if not becomes useless, once you are aiming down. You no longer have the same "oppositional weight" characteristics that you have when it is parallel to the ground.

RE: Who Uses a stabilizer when they hunt?
like said before if you practice with one you should hunt with one. The pro would be it helps keep you and your bow stable but the con would be extra weight.
