PA buck taken first day
 

Hey everyone, had some good luck on opening morning of PA deer season. This buck came by my stand at about 4:30 PM and stopped quartering away at about 25 yards. The shot was good and I found the buck only 40 yards away from the stand. I was not expecting him to come throughso early in the afternoonso I was a bit caught off guard when he came through.Just goes to show you never know when these deer will be moving so always be ready. Looks like you'll have braggin rights at next years GTG for first buck in Pa from the group. Congrats Buddy!

I saw 3 bucks and 2 does early as well. Actually I think I saw the same buck twice, but not 100% sure. He didn't come out of the brush enough to see him real well. He was a shooter though I'm sure. The other one was a large 6 point, but as you know he isn't legal in this part of PA. He'll be a dandy next year if he makes it through the winter.

A short season is not a bad thing sometimes......wish I had that problem more than not. That means deer down and meat in the freezer. Congrats Matt.
