Do you shoot a new broadhead at a target first??

I guess all this talk of sharp broadheads has me wondering... How many of you guys shoot a broadhead with replaceable blades at a target prior to hunting with it. I don't mean with practice blades but rather the ones you intend to hunt with.

What are a couple of broadheads brands that sharpen well??

I use slick tricks and shoot a set of "dull" blades at targets with each ferrule I am going to huntwith. Then I switch blades to brand new "sharp" blades before hunting with those ferrules. The only thing my hunting blades get shot at are animals I intend to kill.

Ditto. I only shoot muzzys and I actually have a set of three put together that I use for target practice. The others never leave my quiver unless they're headed for a deer.

I shoot every broadhead before hunting with them to eliminate any "fliers" and resharpen them on the shaft. If I was shooting a head like the slick trick I'd do exactly as Schism does.

Same here, even with my slick tricks I shoot every head at a target that I intend on hunting with. You would be surprised how manyflyersI havediscovered this way. Of course I always resharpen or replace the blades before hunting with them.
