come on can it get any worst.

Ok wensday i see nothing thursday afternoon nothing.
I head out this morning with my pop up. And with my back and knees hurting from the stand i come up with the idea to hunt the field near the road. Infact the field borders the road. Easy and quick in and out.I did this since there was no other hunters since in with in 1 mile of me.
I did spook what i figure is a deer right before light. Though i do not think it saw me since it was still dark.

I sit there for two hours. and hear at least two animals running through the high sorgum and clover in the field. I turn it is three big dogs running all over. They head down the main trail the deer use and ran right into the woods.

Now i figure that ant going to help. Then here come another bigger dog running barking. Now i figure i am screwed.

I have noticed the deer have not been using the field. They stopped almost a month ago like over night. Could this be the dogs running them off.

Also if your hunting and see dogs running 15 yards from you toward where you think the deer are would you stay or figure the deer are gone.
Monday i am going to hit either the deep bean fields or the sorgum field 3/4 of a mile in the woods. depending on if anyone is at the bean field

If dogs are running around the deer won't be there, except maybe at night. That would explain you possibly jumping a deer going in. I don't know what the laws are in your state, but dogs running loose, possibly chasing deer is against the law here. I'd call a dog warden.
Otherwise it sounds to me your just wasting your time in that area. I'd go deeper near cover with a food source. Someplace the deer can feel secure, but still have a food source close by so they don't have to travel far. Nut tree's could be the ticket. Unfortunately that likely means you will have to walk farther!!

"If it weren't for bad luck you'd have no luck at all"

Happens to all of us. Wait till you see a pack of menenites.:Dlol

My brother has asked me to find some repelant for them, after some thought I wondered if an attractant wouldn't be better. We could attrack them away. His idea of an attractant was a butter churn. We're still working on a solution. :D

my stand is just to the east of this field it sits on a field unplanted with weeds. there are some sorgum and clover. the stand is on a edge of thicket that meets the field i was in today. i am thinking of jumping the creek and seeing what is there.

ya seems like alot of you guys are behind me Monday i will set up on one of two field deep in the woods one is a a area of beans i think are still green that are three strips with well used wood strips dividing them i think the deer use the wood lines to get into the middle of the field but will still be near woods. If there are people hunting the are i will go to the food plot 3/4 of a mile in. I have not seen anyone hunting that area. I spooked a doe the last time i scouted it.
If i get one i hope to get it on video with my new camcorder
i still feel blesssed to be able to hunt as much as i want. I just wish the season started off better heck last year i saw more deer in the first few days. Though that was unpressured private land
