Well I must be the exception here in PA. I didn't go out and sit in the rain this morning. But was in the woods by 2pm. I saw 9 deer total with #9 getting a free ride to the butcher shop with me. Even had a nice longbeard fly up 100yds from me at dusk and roost. A great day in Central PA IMHO.

I took my nephew for his first bow hunt. He is 16. We saw a small buck in the field we had to cross. He snorted and left. Nothing after we got to our stands. Different spot in the evening with nothing spotted. Nice cool weather for the first day.

Came out of the shower at 4:45 and it was pouring. 41 degreees and pouring rain convinced me to watch the "inside of the eyelids stand" for a few hours. Saw lots of big bucks on that "stand" but It always has lots of deer around it
Got out in the afternoon with my ywo sons and they both had deer in but were only presented with marginal shots. We had to wait quite a while for the youngest (16) to come out because he had deer all around him right at quitting time. All in all it was a good day.

I would have to be exception #2. Got to my stand a little later than normal, right around 6am. A little after 7am five deer came into my stand 3 of which were buck. I was able to take a very respectable 6pt. I posted the whole story and pictures at the following link http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=3084073.
I just hope the luck PA Hardwoods and I had opening day rubs off on everyone else.

anybody else sneaking out into the woods after work today? the frost this morning has me buzzing around at my desk like a bee in a mayonaise jar....
