P&Y Question?

What is the proper process to see if a deer qualifies for Pope & Young?

RE: P&Y Question?

1st of all If you shoot a buck It's got to dry for a 60 day period before It can be officially scored and entered by the P&Y club. Make sure you have pictures with your bow In the pics along side you and your buck. You will also need someone to sign a paper by the P&Y saying your buck Is legit. In order for a whitetail buck to qualify for P&Y It has to have a minimum of 125" net to be entered In the P&Y books.

If your looking for a P&Y measurer go to http://www.pope-young.org/find-measu...sults_ajax.asp and click the state you are In. There will be a list of measurer's with phone numbers you can call.

Hope that helped!

RE: P&Y Question?

It has to net 125" or more after the 60 day drying period where typically you end up losing a couple of inches. DO not put antlers in freezer.Like schultzy saidif you have one big enough or think you do it has to be measured by a official from P&Y look at the site and find one thats closest. There is no charge these guys love antlers and volunteer the time.

IF it does qualify after 60 days of drying time and you want it entered in the book it's $25 bucks and you need a picture of you in the field with the animal, no blood and guts take tasteful pics and then one from each side of the deers rack. Front, then from each side. That's about it.
