My School sucks
 

Get home to a letter from the school saying that the PSAT will be on the morning of October 18th. Guess what day deer season starts? The 18th. Man they dont have any retakes either. [:@]Well guess I'll just have to hunt that evening.

I know what you mean. I am supposed to be at a VFW conference that weekend due to some poor planning by the state leadership. LOL I think I will have to send someone in my stead. The first one I will have missed in years.

Well you should go to the test...

...or....

...skip the test, take your SAT's, then take the SAT's again when they are offered. You can take them twice and better score counts. I never took PSAT's...of course I never re-took the SAT's either, and I should have.

I had school October 1st and that was bad enough. But atleast our season is already on.
Good luck making it through the next few weeks knowing you wont be out till day TWO of the season. ;)

I had mine on opening day 2 years ago, that pretty much sucked...4 bucks crossed the road right in front of me that day....

Yep school does conflict with hunting. It doesn't get better once you're in college really (well it may for some people) but it has really made hunting hard for me. I've missed 2 of the last 3 opening days for both Bow and Gun seasons back home :(. But on the bright side, I do have off pretty much the entire week of Gun season (only miss the first 2 days normally, so I have 7 left to hunt)

School is easy for me. I already have a college picked out, Vanderbelt. Its my dream and I hope it happens.

Regardless of whether it is easy or not, you still have to do it for it to count. Vandy is nice school, might want to learn how spell it though before you start feeling out the applications;) Just kidding boss.:D

I don't really get all jacked up to hunt opening morning. Easing out of bed and getting a good breakfast, relaxing and getting my things in order, and then slowly moving off to hunt in the afternoon is relaxing as heck. It gives me a chance to see the new woods with my own eyes, in the sunlight. So don't worry. Make sure you concentrate on your PSAT's so you can get the education you desire...then go out in the afternoon and put all those book smarts into killing a deer.;)

I never remember anything coming out of the PSAT's, just the SAT and ACT....:eek:

Well, the letter says, Due to your academic achievment, you have been selected to take the PSAT. Its pretty much just a guide to see how you do on the SAT. Can also get scholarships from it though. Noramlly this test is taken by 11th graders but, im just that good.

i was supposed to take my PSATs my junior and senior year, my school was stupid and wanted us to take it twice, i skipped both of them to go hunting and i made a 1730 on my SATs and was eligible for honors courses in college. i don't really believe they're necessary to get a good score

Its not necessary for a good score but it acts as a guideline to see where you are. And now the SAT are out 1600, Did they change the scoring system since?
