I'm real comfortable at 40, would be willing to go to 45 on a TOTALLY unsuspecting animal, but I've never had to take a shot over 34yds on a deer in all of the deer I've killed. Now I did once misjudge a MONSTER for being at 32-34, when he was really at 40, and that ended up in CLEAN WHIFF, no harm, no foul, but I was angry at myself as all get out over that one. Especially since I was shooting quite well at 40yds, and I totally blew it!!!

my personal max is 35 yards. 90% of the time i will wait til they are inside 30, and only a bit further than that if all the conditions are absolutely perfect (unalert deer, no wind ect.)
