A different take on scent dispersion

Maybe this is common practice for some...I dunno, I've never read or seen it being done. Maybe because it doesn't work.:eek: If some of you have tried this, has it worked for you. Here it goes....
Its obviously common practice to hunt w/ a wind that blows your scent opposite of where the deer will be. Which to me,deminishes the full potential of deer urine as an attractant. Whereas, using a wind that intersects a travel corridor that, lets say, goes from a bedding area to feeding area would give you an opportunity to diperse a favorable scent to attract/deter deer off their current path and on acourse to specific location that would present you a shot. The key is, to have the deer detect the scent lure before he crosses your scent. I'll try and illustrate it best I can.
I've never intentionally tried it, but I may this year. What's your take on this tactic?

*deer*moving to feeding area

Scent Lure ----wind--->

Feeding Area

I'm sure it could work, but will it work more times than not????

I just found a couple of holes in my logic...
all it may take is for one deer to not bite on the scent bait and intersect your scent trail and
GAME OVER.

Its a lot easier to put the urine upwind of yourself and then you have the wind in your face and the deer are still upwind of you but downwind of the attractant. ;)

But wouldn't that turn the deer away from you and toward the attractant or from where the scent is coming from.

I guess it depends how far away from your stand you put it. I uses the attractants for more of a diversion.
