RE: bowhunting from a climbing treestand?
I hunted from my climber this evening.. I do prefer a hang on so I can shoot sitting and I have a faster up and down but I don't mind my climbers.. I have 2 of them...

RE: bowhunting from a climbing treestand?
I guess I am lazy, but I prefer to NOT fool with a climber when possible...having a lock on setup already hung makes things SOOO much easier, especially for morning sits. That said, I still hunt from a climber about 1/3 of the time for GMMATs reason, to move on a whim and not be detected in same area.
I hope to havea loggy bayou predator and LW sticks fora same day setup by next season. |
RE: bowhunting from a climbing treestand?
I have spent most of the last 20 years in one climber or another. I prefer it over all others. I have several hangons and a ladder and climbing sticks and all the other gizzmos, but right now NONE of them are in the woods. I make mental notes of trees and spots for my climber when I scout. I rarely hunt the same tree twice. (in a sing songy voice) "It's me and my cliiiiiiiiiiimer, strolling down the logging road". What could be better?

Always wearing my safety harness. Feel more comfortable with leaning over to take the shot. Not so easy to carry when your in the mountains though... Better be fit.
