I just got an update on my nephew this morning. The doctor spoke with my sister and told her they are trying to ween him off the oscillator within the next 24 hours and he will be put on a respirator. All his vitals seem to be good and we finally got an x-ray of his lungs that are showing some signs of improvement. The doctor basically told my sister that he never gives his patients an A but in this case he is giving Slade an A because of how far he has come in such a short period of time. Even he is sort of shocked at this point. He is by no means out of the woods, but seems to be moving in the right direction. My mom borrowed my lap top last night and read through everyone of your messages and is beyond appreciative for your thoughts and prayers as is my entire family.....

Prayers sent my friend!! I work as an intensive care nurse, and just remember kids can take one hell of alot of punishment. Thats the best thing hes got going for him is that hes young. I pray everything works out for you and your family.

Well, I wanted to let everyone that has been praying for my nephew that things are looking much, much better. He was taken off the oscillator yesterday and put onto a regular respirator which is a big step in the right direction. His swelling from the fluids has decreased tremendously and he looks like normal again. The doctors are besides themselves on how quickly he is healing and they say he should make a full recovery. He is still heavily sedated but has moved and reacts to sound and touch. From where he was 5 days ago to now is unreal and some of the nurses have said its a miracle being that he was clinically dead at one point. I am so happy right now I can't see straight. Thank you all for everything, there is a part of me that thinks all of your prayers had alot to do with bringing him out of such a bad spot. Again my heartfelt thanks to everyone who prayed for him.

My family and I are all sitting here saddened by reading this while praying for this little boy. We never know when tragedy may strike our families and its something we can never prepare for. My heart goes out to you and your family in this trying time. Hoping for the best outcome

Shane, thank you for the encouraging updates. I'm glad things are heading in the right direction.It's pretty tough to keep a dry eye reading everyones posts,and hopefully all our prayers helped, but you and your family were the ones who were there day and night. Your the ones who deserve the most credit along with the big guy upstairs.

Dear Lord:

May you hear the prayers of everyone on this site and especially sr77's little man.
I wish and prey for you as well. It doesnt matter we dont know each other at all to me.
My son was a new born and his circumcision went bad and he ended up needing a blood transfusion 97CC of blood.
This really angered me because when i seen the blood afterwards they acted like i was paranoid about it since i was bringing it up so much. But i had to go crazy and almost get handled by security before someone really realized i was right. The person was someone who i had went to school with and she seen the commotion and came over to me asking whats wrong. Then she sen my son and alerted some people.

So i say this to you sr77. I know what you feel when it is serious and you know it but cannot comprehend anything or possibly even rest. I was up for more then 48 hours strait since this all took place.

May God help you to be strong and not tire through this time in your life. I pray you and your loved ones pain goes on swift wings as fast as it came.
