I have dragged more deer out in the dark than I care to remember. Heck, it's taken me until 9 or 10 PM to find a couple.[&:] I call home and tell them I'll be late and then start dragging, after I've gutted of course. On a couple rare occasions I boned the deer out in the woods and back packed it.

Heck i took this doe sep-14 sunday afternoon 30min before dark in which doesn`t get dark untill around 8pm or so?.
It was around 80degress "hot and humid"
I had my 13yr son with me and he help mea ton that night! We had a 1/2 mile drag back to the truck.
I Field dressed it throwned it into the truck headed home which is 35-40 miles away.
When i got homeMy son took a few pics and by this time its almost 12:00pm I told my son hit the shower go to bed. (he had school the next morning.)
Iskin it quatered it up put it ice. Untill the next day.
Done it many times . Whats the big deal?
This pic was taken 12:00 midnight sept 14 sunday night.

Real simple, gut him, drag him, cut it up and wrap it and go to bed. If you dont have time after the hunt then you shouldnt be out there in the first place. Or at least if you are out there you should have no intention of shooting

Sure I'll answer that question...but first, my own question...WHY ARE WE YELLING!??!?
I'd field dress it, take it home, skin it, debone the meat, put the meat on ice, and package it up in a couple of days after sitting on ice. Or you could take it straight to your processor.
