I'm a Lineman apprentice for PPL and wouldn't trade linework for the world. I was 20 when I started and I'm now 23. When I started though there were quite a few guys in there 40's just starting out also so age wouldn't be a factor for ya. I tell all my buddys that anyone needing a job should look into there local union hall.

I own two companies...
1st - Is a high tech CNC / EDM machine shop that builds plastic injection molds, along with design and development work for the plastics industry - 60% medical - We make all the neat little hand held devices doctors use like catheters, stint delivery systems, even had a hand in the mechanical heart, etc. The docs and scientists have the ideas on new innovative medical technologies and I figure out how they can manufacture them. I am currently in the negotiations to sell my company to large medical manufacturer and could have a lot of extra hunting time in the near future. Maybe take a ride out to visit Shultzy, Magic and GregH???
2nd (part time) - Log & Timber Frame home building company. I created this company in 2001 when manufacturing hit the wall from 9/11. I needed to make ends meet and guaranty my employees a job, so I built 6 houses to date with nothing in the last 3 years... Too busy with the plastic stuff! Plus the 110 hours per week was killing me.[:@]
