You strap them on the leather same as the stone or crock sticks Joe, it takes off the burs and polishes the cutting edge.
They will actually feel sharperwith the burs on,but on contact with somthing like a deer hide these fine burs fold over or break off causing flat spots on your cutting edge.You will be able to seetiny flakes of the blade on the leather after you start. |
