nice pics! nice crop of bucks as well!

when did you make the scape?? just curious...

i had a fresh rubline just starting about 5 weeks ago....figured i wouldnt be back there for about 2 months so i got a stick and made myself a scrape...perfect place for a scape..licking branch above it...then i did my thing in it....we'll see if its still there shortly...would be kinda neat to kill one over a scape i made....figured i had nothing to loose...even if i spooked everything around, they will be back to normal by the time im back...

I made the scrape Sunday afternoon around 2pm. First bucks hit it at 8pm that night. Not 6 hours later. This was a brand new mock scrape too.

I simply found a good trail crossing thru the fence line and the overhanging branch seemed to be the perfect spot. I took a shovel and cleared the ground out and then 'scented' it. I think the keys are this.
1. Find a natural place you would find one in the woods. Corner of a field, or field edge. or along a well used trail in the woods.
2. it must have an overhanging branch. As you can see, they like to work that branch and leave their scent on it

Of all my mock scrapes, I've seen deer use them all throughout the year. This particular one is not visible from the house but my other is from the office window and I have a few pics as well as I have watched several deer check them all times of the year.

nice pops!! got me really hoping mine is being hit! that would be awesome...no givin that i'll be there when the bucks hit it...but its secluded in the woods and in a spot that id say would been a good spot for a buck to make a scrape....i'll be back there likely oct 9th hunting if not before then and nothing for school going on...even if i tag my buck before than, i'll still head there to observe and maybe doe hunt...
