Sorry to hear that things didn't work out for you, I know I'd be disappointed myself. As for that lion, I may have had to let that GRIZZ-Trick loose on him if he was sneaking that close to my buddy and didn't move out after the first "HEY." At least that way on my walk back to camp I wouldn't be all puckered up!!!

Pure excitementwith the mountain lion! Wouldn't you feel better if when some one yelled at them they tore a-- out of there, instead of slowly walking away? It's like they are saying,I didn't want to chew on you today but maybe tomorrow.
Sorry your hunt was cut short!

My thoughts exactly! I've never been that close to one before, but I can picture one simply sneaking off rather than high-tailing it like they are actually afraid. A bit creepy, but what a memory that made. Good write-up Dubbya.

Sorry it was cut short bro, I know you look forward to this every year. Thanks for sharing your story though, for those of us that have never done it.

It's a shame your time was cut short, but at least you got to enjoy the time you had. Hopefully the guide's advice will help your buddies.

is it legal to carry a side arm while bowhunting in Colorado?

It is legal, but the pistol has to be exposed/not concealed.

An experience that you won't soon forget. Sorry to hear that you're trip got cut short.

Thanks guys, it was pretty cool. We all own side arms, but none of us were packing them. The only time I've really ever been concerned with it was in Grizzly country... I might think a little differently now.

I got word from my buddy this afternoon, they went to the new spot last night and called in a bull in the first 20 minutes and heard lots of bugles.[:@] But I'm really happy for them, I hope they kill something so I can at least mix a little of their elk meat in with my tag soup!!!:D:D:D
