Max Height
What is your max height you would bow hunt out of your treestand?
Mine would be 25ft. |
RE: Max Height
I agree 25ft is my max while 20 ft platform height is probably more my average. Anything much higher then this and the shot angle becomes much more difficult. While using my climber, I have a 25 ft retriever strap that is attatched to my fanny pack, I' ll climb until I feel the weight of my bow on the strap.

RE: Max Height
I use to go as high as possible, didn" t matter. But I have gotten smarter about that . I still go high but only just enough for conceilment in the tree limbs. Thats why I don" t like a climber, you stand out too much. But they sure as heck are comfortable, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.[&o]
I agree that the higher you are up the smaller the kill zone is on the target, of course it depends how far the deer is from the tree.;) |
RE: Max Height
Tough question. It just depends on background cover, shoting lanes etc. My max ht would probably be 20 ft. You get much higher than that, you start giving up more than you gain. A deers like you and me. Browsing through the woods and from a distance they can see everything. Background cover and outline breakup get the job done, not height.

RE: Max Height
My max would be 20 and I would be nervous about that. I' m not real fond of heights, ok, I' m afraid of them. I rarely go above 15.

RE: Max Height
I agree with Fletchead. Most of the time I am up 21' to my waist so about 18' to the base of the climber. Like the others I know I' m there when there is tension on the Bow.
