Camera stand made easy
Bloodcrick's camera stand gave me an idea about making my own. I never would have thought about this without him making one first. This thing was rediculously easy to make and will really come in handy since I usually hunt alone. Up until now whenever I've wanted to take pics of myself and whatever animal I killed I would have to balance my digital camera on my backpack or 4-wheeler or something. You get the idea. Dan showed how to make one out of arrow parts. Since I didn't have any arrows laying around at work yesterday I made this one. I started with 1/4" threaded rod and cut 3 equal pieces each about 14" long. I then just screwed some rod couplings on to connect the parts including one to be used as a jam nut at the bottom of the camera. I had some olive drab paint sitting on a shelf so I figured what the heck. When put together and screwed into the camera it is quite sturdy. It breaks down and fits into my pack or under the seat of my 4-wheeler easily. Thanks for the idea Bloodcrick!

RE: Camera stand made easy
Just so you guys know......(and no offense to you guys who like to and are GOOD at making things;)).....
You can buy a really small "tripod" (about 5-6" long)that has snake-like legs that can be bent to position your camera in almost any position. You'll have to place it ON something higher up....but I can't see these things costing more than $10. I got one free with a digital camera I bought years ago. If I can find a pic.....I'll post one. http://www.opticsplanet.net/pentax-mini-tripod.html |
