Default What's your hunting gasoline bill?

At the rate I'm going- 450 miles a week X 4weeks= 1800mi divided by 17mpg = 105 gal X $4.15/gal = a grand total of $435.00 per month. This probably doesn't seem like alot of money to some of you guys who make real money but to poor folk like me..... it hurts!

What's your monthly total?

I don't care who you are, $435/month is a lot![8D] Mine doesn't change much during hunting season, as both places I hunt are close. One requires no driving (home), and my cabin is only 15minutes away. About $200 a month is my avg with about a 19-20mpg avg.

Well it depends if i go up the cabbin or stay around here. If i stay around here its prob about the same as yours price wise. My truck only gets 11mpg and i ont have to go far to hunt so i hunt about every night. I go to the cabbin only once it adds another $300 to it. So my hunting bill just for gas for the month of Sept is going to be just under $1200 in gas.

I don't even want to know. 350 miles to the west Texas land I'll be hunting opening weekend. 150 miles to the deer camp in east Tx. and I'll try to hunt one or the other each weekend between Sept. 27th and Jan 4th. I won't be driving my 14 MPG pick-up. I will be driving my wifes 25 MPG Ford Escape on every trip.

$228.82 a month. 500 miles a week (avg) thats to and from work, I hunt my provate property so add no extra milage, X4 weeks, so 500X4=2000/34mpg=58.82X3.89=$228.82

Bought a 35mpg four door 93 Toyota Terrcel this summer. Looks almost new, runs great and only cost me 1500 bucks. Drive it when I can. Beats the heck out of my truck. Plan on doing most of my hunting out of it.

Everybody around here drives it when they can. Gas bill's here for all of us was probably over 600 a mounth. I got nothing good to say about the people sticking it to me. That's over 7000 dollars a year. Unbelievable! Have friends who are trying to move into town for the same reason and a jump in his realestate tax's of 1200 a year. Puts him over 4000 a year. While our pockets are being stripped, insult is added to injury when they tell us evrything is just fine.[:@]Propane here has jumped 500% since we moved in 1990.It was .55gal when we moved in, 2.69 now. Most tanks around here are 500 gallon. Bought a wood heat/domestic hot waterboiler 4-5 years ago for 6000. It's paid for itself already. Deregulation of electricity STINKS! And we have the much touted "alternative" nuclear energy.

Waders wont protect people these days from the crap that's piled up on a daily basis.

Gosh! Now that you mention walking to your stand it makes me think about gas for the 4 wheeler too!

Well it's a 435 mile round trip. I will travel probably 10-11 times back and forth. 435x10= 4350 miles. I'm getting about 28mpg on the highway withthe Subaru, and gas is about 3.95 a gallon right now (I have to use 93)..........so roughly $600-$650in gas.

I pay more in gas money to travel back and forth to camp than I do for taxes. [&:]

Let's see.....a power bar to get me out to the far end of the field and then another to get to "the spot". Just kidding. I walk to my hunt, so no gas required. If I get ambitious, I will drive over to Sampson (about three miles).
