I'd really like to use the g5's i bought but the practice heads whistle in flight. plus i think it sucks that the blades need shapening right out of the pack. anybody else have them whistle?

Assuming you're talking about the Montecs, yes, I have noticed a whistle.

From what i have read, they do not need sharpening because the angle of the blade is already sharpened to cut....just feels different on your hand when you touch the blade. I just bought the G5's and shot them the last couple of days without any whistling at all....they were very accurate time and time again.

I have noticed a whistle with montecs also, but like mentioned before the strikers are quiet and very sharp. When testing broahead sharpness you should try cutting a rubber band that is stretched tight by gently sliding the broahead blade over it, if it take much force it needs to be sharper. Ive read that G5 uses a different angle on the montec blades that makes them more durable and hold the edge longer. A thick edge can get sharp but usualy not as shart as a thin one but it will last alot longer.
