Thanks guys for the info on these broadheads. I will just use 3 for practice and 3 for the woods. The blades will remain sharp.

Just got some strikers this weekend. I won't be shooting them until next weekend when I get my new bow. I have to tell you, they're razor sharp. Not sure why you guys are having problems with dull blades.

FYI - if you change your mind, you can get Slick Tricks from Cabelas, or like I did, directly from Slick Trick. www.slicktrick.net.

Exactly what i was going to say, I asked G5 about it.. They say the Montec is designed more to be like a meat cleaver vs a razor blade.. Very strong and lots of tissue damage..

They can be sharpened quite a bit with the sharpner made my G5..
I shot them for a while and didn't care for the "hiss", otherwise a good head..

I much prefer the Striker though.. I have nothing negative to say about the Striker...

only problem is they come out of the package about as sharp as a butter knife. Takes some work to get an decent edge on them.
misconception imo. a blade with a 60 degree angle on it wont feel razor sharp to the touch, but is plenty sharp when it comes to cutting. put a 30 degree angle on that blade, and the edge wont hold near as long but will feel sharp enough to cut you by looking at it. the montec is designed for a 60 degree angle put on it. the edge will hold its sharpness much longer this way.

so wahoo---you have shot them right out of the box and it made a good clean pass through on a deer?
yes.

of course, a couple times at a target to make sure they were flying true, but yes other than that
