Cut Corn

2-3 of my stands are within 100 yards of a corn field. I've found trail after trail leading to the corner of this corn field. By late October-early November (when I plan to be in PA hunting) that corn will be cut.

My question or questions are...
Do deer prefer a cut corn field to a standing corn field or doesn't it make a difference?
How will deer movement change to and from this field because it has been cut?

I know there are a lot of variables that could effect some of this, but share some of your experience with hunting corn fields.

Around here they like the corn either way. Less security than when its cut, but after its cut there always seems to be alot spilled. So they still make their way to it.

same in NC, they are a little more skiddish because they do not have the security of tall corn but their drive to eat gets the best of them.

My fear is that because it lacks the same security these deer will be feeding even later into the night. That is the main reason I'm around 100 yards off the corn. Hopefully I'll catch them milling around well before they plan to go out to feed.

I think it also depends on how cold it is out. if it is very cold and snowing they will need carbs. and the easiest way for them to get them is to load up on corn. As long as they dont get shot at in the near future in the corn they will continue to use the field.
