9/11 not forgotten...
we all get caught up in our lives and many have forgotten about today and what happened 7 yrs ago. I know everyone on this site remembers and will never forget. I hope everyone took time today to say a prayer or at least think about those lost and to give props to our service men and women. Thank you guys and gals for your service and let us not forget those who died on 9/11/01!!!!

RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
Thread of the day! Big thanks to those that serve and protect us! I think anyone old enough to remember anything will know exactly where he/she was at when they first found out. I do. Second row from the door, third seat from the front of Mr. Maass' American History class (ironically enough). I can still name the two people that sat in front of me.

RE: 9/11 not forgotten...

RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
Very true, hard to envision that day all over again. The sad part, is that many have forgotten and have an unrealistic view of the threat from the Middle East. I had it on in the office today and a person actually walked by and asked "Oh, what's going on in New York today.".....I wanted to choke.
Thanks to all who serve |
RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
I haven't forgot this day. A big thank you to people serving in the military to fight the war against terror both the American and other troops out there including my fellow countrymen.
A friend of mine died in the towers, there were alot of Scots working there at the time. |
RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
I will never forget. I pray for all the families of the people who died that day and all the troops protecting us around the world

RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
I will never forget that day. My dad was in the Pentagon on the side that was hit. He was living with me for the month of September 2001. I could not reach him by cell phone until almost 9pm....I was unsure whether he was alive or dead...he did not arrive home until almost midnight. He had scratch marks all over his face from where he and a bunch of people were pulling people from the rubble. I had to take him to the hospital in the early morning hours as he woke up and could not breathe at all. He had inhaled a ton of jet fuel smoke and was very sick. I told him dad, you survived two tours in Nam as an infantry Marine, and now you survived this.....and the old Marine of 25 years then signed up to go over to Baghdad for 10 months embedded with an infantry unit after he retired...goodness! My point, we have some tough a.. old men and women who have put their lives on the line for us so many times....THANK YOU to all servicemen and women for your service.

Thread of the day! |
RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
You beat me too it as well. I was sitting in class today thinking, if someone hasn't started a thread on this by the time I get back to my place I will.
Yesterday a kid sat down in front of me in class that I had never noticed before, dressed in his Army attire. I tapped on the shoulder and thanked him for his service and shook his hand. Like the headlines said here: 7 years. No longer yesterday, but not quite history. We Will Never Forget |
RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
ORIGINAL: DropTine249 It was a tragedy..To think, we lost soo many Marines over a government conspiracy that was blamed on a non-existant terrorist organization ! RIP all who were lost on that day, and all who have served to correct it since. You'll never be forgotten.:) |
RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
And 7 years later we still can't catch the freakin idiot who called for this act of terrorism to take place..perhaps we should get a bunch of rednecks together and go get the bastard.
We can spend billions worrying about what the guy who set the baseball home run record is putting in hismuscles ... and the real bad guys are out there probably partying like rockstars today! |

Check out the History Chanell tonight at 9 pm. Its supposed to be raw footage never showed before and alot of detailed information about how everything was put together.

RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
We must have never landed on the moon either. Damn conspiracies.
Sorry for the innapropriate rant guys, but it reallymakes me mad when I hear of these things, IMO, it belittles the memory of those lost not only on that tragic day but also in battles following. Bad people did a bad thing to an innocent mass of good people. I was pretty young when it happened (11), but I remember every detail of that day like it was yesterday. Very saddening stuff. The general public's reaction afterward made me proud to be American though, that is for sure. |
RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
DT I will have to go back and look at those sites again, but I was not following it to well, I must be missing something...anyway, if you can't go into detail then it's as if we never heard it in the first place, I know nothing:D. Either way, what ever anyone chooses to believe, there is no denying the fact that 3000 people died on this day and that is what's important right now, God bless them and their families.

RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
I'll never forget anything about that day. Very sad day, everywhere. I remember I was in 3rd grade religion class, when I found out.
my prayers are still out to everyone that was lost, and their families. |
RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
I havent forgotten.

RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
Certainly,a day NONE of us will ever be able to forget. A day we SHOULDN'T forget, and memories we should keep near and deer, as we have lost a lot of our "sense of security," since that day. GOD BLESS THE TROOPS serving this country to ensure that we NEVER have a repeat. Keep this in mind as you consider your vote and the stuff that the media fills us with, WE ARE IN IRAQ TO KEEP THE TERRORISTS THERE!!!! Fight the WAR ON TERROR on it's turf, rather than OURS!!!! As the Darryl Worley song says, I think they should show it on TV everyday as a reminder of why we are doing the things we are doing in IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN!!!!

RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
ORIGINAL: DropTine249 More than a heart-attack. When we would say Al Qaeda to middle eastern people, they had no idea what we were talking about. Taliban, they knew of.Trust me,if you'd seen what we've seen- you would hold a drastically different opinion. I dont want to(cant) get into it TEmbry, but its alot deeper and a TON more dirty than you would ever believe. Remember, we were the ones that were sent to hunt this ficticious organization.. I dont sleep with a 40cal under my mattress because I'm afraid of a common burglar or some terrorist, thats for damn sure.... 2. The last part scares me more than anything or anyone else in this world. |
RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
Trevor,
I couldn't agree with you more. It honestly makes me angry that some people can diminish the things our country does and say that our troops fight in vein. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS. |
RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
"LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE". Thanks you to everyone who has, or is currently serving!

RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
You know whats sad? America only knows about what happened that day. The people that died there. The soldiers that they hear about dying thru the media. What they dont see are the 1000s of soldiers that come back F'd up. Physically and mentally. Im a medic and Ive seen things that most have only seen in the movies. Picture this... A soldier in a hospital bed, no right arm or leg. Right side of his head bandaged with the left side of his face basically melted away. His 5yo son comes in and starts screeming cuz he is scared of his dad.
Pray for Soldiers! The Soldiers Creed I am an American Soldier. I am a Warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United States, and live the Army Values. I will always place the mission first. I will never accept defeat. I will never quit. I will never leave a fallen comrade. I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills. I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself. I am an expert and I am a professional. I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy, the enemies of the United States of America in close combat. I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life. I am an American Soldier. HOOAH |

BUT....DT if you think you were disclosed all the information about Al Qaeda you are sorely mistaken...You were told ONLY what you needed to know as fighting men and women period. Remember YOU weren't the only soldier there, many were with much higher security clearance than yourself. Many of them returned home to friends and family where some details were let known...THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY about that. But suffice it to say, if you knew what I know there is no way in hell you would be spewing that conspiracy BS the way you are.[:@][:@][:'(] |
RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
Never forget it.
God bless those who were lost, and those who are still fighting today. |
RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
I will always remember...One of the thingsthat comes to mind is working at one of the busiest airports in the country and looking out over the field and not seeing a single plane moving. What a strang and erie feeling that was.
Ihad to but down my 14 year old dog last year and picked this day as a way to remember all that were lost... |
RE: 9/11 not forgotten...
Wow, what is this a "lets fight" thread?
Seriously though we're supposed to be honouring those that died for our countries not bickering and our of respect I wish everyone would quit fighting and honour that. Speaking of no aircraft i've had 2 airlines go bust on me. Zoom a couple of weeks ago and XL airways last night while taxiing on the ramp full of passengers ready to go on their vacation. There are now 5 aircraft grounded at GLA. Its terrible whats happening to this fine industry. Watch this space. :( But once again a big thank you to Americans, Scots everyone out there fighting for our freedom which alot of us take for granted. Amen. |
