Im off the 70lb train...

Ive been shooting 70lbs for oh... 'bout a month now. I liked it... still like it. I was shooting Bowtech Ally, 70lbs @ 28" with a 350grn arrow. I loved the speed and punch, when it knocked my morrell bag over.

But, my groups were suffering with field tips at any yardage, I dont feel it was me, I feel it might be the arrow, poundage combination. But I'm leaving that one open. I tied on some Bh's today just to see... and wow, I was all over the place... granted it was spitting rain, shouldnt matter, I couldnt hit crap...

So I backed my limbs out 2 full turns. I have no idea what poundage that dropped me too, but wow it felt great, and my arrows were touching again at 20 yards. I havent tried the bh's yet but I feel a whole lot more confident with my field tips hitting good again.

You don't need 70# to blow through a deer.
I pulled 70# when I first started hunting, and it was no problem in practice; I could draw the bow straight back while sitting.
One 19 degree day, wearing bluky clothes,I could not pull the bow:(and the deer walked.
You just can't believe the difference in difficulty until it happens.
I was a one time learner.

I have been off it for a year or two. With the 101, I don't need it.It would be downright scary to turn the thing all the way up. Right now it's tossing arrows weighing 440 grains at 295 fps. Thats 85 ft lbs of KE. I am blessed with long arms though.
