I don't think this is a very good idea. States have thier laws for a reason, even if some are dumb. You can't manage every state the same because the dynamics are all different. Heck you see that even within a state you can't manage it the same.
Completely agree.

im not saying that, im trying to say that there are sooo many different ones , that it makes it confusing at times, and that i dont see why us as hunters cant come up with a set of rules that is for all,
The more people you get involved, the more the law expands. What you're asking is for hundrends of thousands of people to agree on the same thing... it'll never happen.

RE: Regulations, Regulations!

I KNOW THAT IT PROB. WONT WORK, AND YET AGAIN, THATS NOT WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY!

i am from wisconsin, and havent yet had the privelage to hunt in another state, so i cant really judge the "other rules" im going on things i have read and heard. I was trying to bas it around here, in WI. Maybe i worded it wrong, or it came off wrong, but i personally dont like the laws here in wisconsin, all the baiting laws, the deer management laws, all the different types of tags and rules for tags and county lines and registration staion rules...on and on and on.....
so im saying that the laws that other states have for the way they hunt should be looked at to incorporate them, if possible, into their laws. i mean if a law in mich. about baiting states that you can, and its regulated, then why cant WI, figure out a way to get it to work here??? thats what i mean by co-operation....

I recently read the regulations thread, and came accross some pretty outlandish sets of rules for different states, and I guess I come to realize a few more things about hunting, that I never seen before.:(

I always knew that all states are different and have different rules, but in my opinion, thats why we as sportsman are seeing such drastic and foolish changes in the way we hunt. Alot of rules that I came accross in the thread were not only wierd, but I seen in no way which they actually helped?
I feel as though we need to come together as sportsmen, of all ages, race and sex, and come to grips on "common laws", in all states, to aid the hunters.

Dont get me wrong, I know that there are plenty of good laws, that help and are here for our best interests, but we as hunters alike, have been doing what we do, for hundreds of years, and everything has worked out. Sometimes I think people need to just take a minute, to look back to years when my great, great, great grandpa was hunting, and see that then, things were simple and working with mother nature was alot better then working against her.;)

I see what you mean kinda but like you mentioned about going back to the way things were when your grandpa hunted, we cant because look at the numbers of hunters and the advancments in technology compared to when he hunted. There are now more hunters then ever with MUCH more capabilities. If it was like it was back then, when you did not need a permit or did not have a bag limit, hunters would wipe out the deer population in 5 years.

I doubt that very much. All you have to do is look at Wisconsins Herd Eradication areas for CWD. Shoot as many as you like. You will never kill them all.
I do agree with most posters on this one. Differnet states need different regs. There are so many variables involved in writing those regulations. Wisconsin has the conservation congress( I hope thats the correct name), and that is where citizens just like yourself can get involved with the regulation process.
Wisconsin does have some pretty goofy rules, but for the most part they do a pretty damn good job. I can go hunting or fishing for just about anything and have relatively good success alot of the time.

Wiranger, I do not understand your post. You highlighted part of mine and said you doubt it but then you agree with me. I said rules need to be in place. what is it you doubt? the 5 years thing? maybe its 10 or 15, the point is if you do not have rules then you will eventually wipe out the population. History has proved it. thats why regs were put into place, cause we were wiping out entire populations.
