Nice pics Greg, good post, it just doesn't always happen like on the videos unfortunately. Sounds like you had a good time, maybe you'll get that bull next fall, and he'll be a 350-class by then!!!!

Thanks guys for the compliments on the pics... It makes it worthwhile to pack along the camera, which takes up additional space in the fanny pack. I actually didn't allot much time for picture-taking, as I was so intent on searching for elk... most of these were taken in some off-time within a couple-day span.

There's four or so up above that were taken closer to the middle of the afternoon on the last evening hunt; the last one was fun as that rock I'm sitting on at full draw basically puts my feet dangling above a 200-foot drop. That one was fun trying toposition the camera to capture the correct field of view, set the timer, and scramble into position without falling over the edge. It didn't really capture the effect of the canyon behind me like I wanted, but then again, pictures never do.

We'll definitely have to meet up there some day and share a hunt.

Greg,

You know, I just sit here and shake my head...I feel for you, truly I do!
I am sorry you had to leave (without an elk). I am relieved you had a good time! I am also happy you're home safely. When you're ready to come back, you know my door is always open!

Thanks for sharing!

Maybe not successful as for getting an elk but I know the effort and scenic beauty was well worth the trip. I plan on going back for my 2nd elk hunt, not sure when but I am. One of if not the best times I've ever had. Thanks for sharing the story and pics.
