Based on the description of the deer going straight down.....MY guess is no pass-thru
I'm curious, did she get an exit wound and a pass through?
Congrats, My first with a bow was pretty much the same. She ducked and I spined her and she went no where.

I'm going to disagree with this a little bit. Since she was from a ground blind at 17 yards, coupled with the arrow weight and speed in the description, I'm going to bet the head itself passed through, cutting the spine area, but the arrow remained in the body. Having seen these shots before, I'm also willing to bet a second shot was needed. JMO. Still a great deer and triumph for the young lady! That smile says it all.

The first shot must have hit the spine, because the deer was imobilized. A follow up shot was required; you can't see the 2nd shot because the front leg blocks it. The first hit did completely penetrate the deer, head made it out. She definitely struck bone, it was difficult to pull the arrow out.
She was wearing a Scentlock headcover, and painted the open area of her face.
