Default RE: Limbsaver String Silencers. What the heck is wrong.

From what I've seen under slow motion the string supressors only stop the bottom 1/3 of the string. The top 2/3 still continues on beyond brace height. While the supressor is doing it's job this might explain why the bottom silencer is not having problems like the top.

I don't know about those supressors but I do know that when one end is wearing while the other isn't the bow is out of balance, in your case the top is doing more of the work and needs to be reduced or the bottom increased.
Both limbs are maxed out and its a single cam system. There is no way that one end is doing more work, as there could be with a binary cam.

I think it is likely the suppressor and nothing else is wrong- as stated in the majority of the replies.
It's got to do with the strength of the limbs not the cams or does the impact point not change if the tiller changes? No matter where the limb bolts areon either limb neither limb does more of the work?

(Not saying this is the way it is) Exagerated the top could have 60 pound limbs and the bottom 70. The bottom will be doing more of the work. The supressor could be causing the imbalance byrobbing strength from the bottom.

I thought they were suppose to eliminate the need for the leechs?

Could be a good thing you didn't remvoe them, they're talking and may reveal a weakness in the setup. Something to explore after the seasons over.

The suppressor is destroying the leeches. Guaranteed. My Ally (binary) did the same thing. The cam type does not matter.

The suppressor brings the string to a very sudden stop and the leeches fly froward/apart.

Removethe leches and the associated serving and you will not notice a an increase in noise.

One of the main benefits of an string suppressor is the removal of the leeches - less string weight and one less thing to wear out.

IMO there are 2 things that work on your string, one is catwhishers and the other is a suppressor....everything else sucks for one reson or another....string leechesposess pisspoor durability...

Yep. I have had the same problem. I am now trying the string bats and so far so good plus they are cheaper too.

I think I pretty much agree withthe STS theory. My question is why would you have them if you have the Mean V. After I put a MEan V on any of my bows, I take stuff like this off the string as they are now just extra weight for the string to carry. Take em off, gainlike2fps, andkeep shooting.
