Evening Visitors...

Yeah, they're no Rob bucks, but this evening my wife commented how nice it was to see a doe out in the backyard this morning. When we looked out the window, here is what we saw. One of them still has it's spots. They stuck around eating acorns off the ground for about 20 minutes.

No, that's no river in the background, it's my 7 acre pond. The pond is 400 feet wide at the dam and 1450 ft long. We don't live on a golf course, I spent 15 hours just mowing the front and backyard last week. Our driveway is a half mile from the road to the house and then another half mile back to where my food plots are. When the leaves are on the trees, you cannot see another house in any direction. In the winter, you can see the yard lights of 4 neighbors through the trees. Life in the country, you gotta love it!

Af, I too love to look at them out the window,I don't even hunt at my house but I have only seen 2 bucks on my property that weren't shooters, the wife and I will sit out in the mornings drinking coffee and watching the deer. Then the kids get up and come out and it don't take long the deer ease off in the woods. Cool view AF...Thanks for sharing!

I have a HUGE apple tree in the back of the property that is going to supply not only the deer but us with bushels and bushels of apples!

If you don't know brother, nobody does....you gotta start it out like this: "You know Lord, I was thinking that I need to go on a mission to that backwards country Iowa to save a few souls. I thought I would start out with AF's and now all I need is that pretense for visiting him that he'll never know the real mission....I wonder if I were to be selected for a zone 5 tag if he wouldn't invite me into his home...I think that may be the ticket Lord, yeah that's the ticket!!!! Knowing I can't do this on my own Lord, I am placing the non-resident tag part in your hands, and I'll take care of the rest. Amen"

Being a layman, that's the best I can come up with for you Tony.:D

Ah c'mon Tony! 15 hour drive is nothing for a young cross-bearing buck like you!:D Shoot my old carcass did a 13 hour round trip last weekend and I slept through the whole thing. Luckily, I was driving!:D
