COC would be the only way to go, and keep the shots under 25yds.

You certainlydon't need a COC but I would never reccomend any mechanical pulling just 40 pounds. Slick trick standards or 85's, Magnus stingers, NAP nitrons, are 3 excelent choices.

BTW, the rage is a COC broadhead.

Wasp Boss Bullets, Stingers, of course. I haven't tried them, but the Steelforce Phathead looks like a very promising low KE head.
BTW-I betcha a Rocket Steelhead or G-5 Tekan will penetrate every bit as good as the above fixed heads.

The Steelhead will penetrate as well as a fixed head, and my wife has used them with a 40# bow. I was pleased with the performance overall, but the entry hole was small; if a pass through is not achieved, you are only going to have a small entry hole. I've got her shooting the Slick Trick standard 1'' this year. If she doesn't get a pass through we will still have a full size entry hole.

I would not recomend using a mechanical head, I think at the low draw weight a COC would be the best choice.
