acorn questions
first off, hi. i'm semi-new to bowhunting. i was wondering if deer like acorns more when they first fall or after they turn a little brown? also do you guys think it would be better to hunt field edges or in the timber for early season bow? sorry so random, thanks paul

RE: acorn questions
They will eat acorns as soon as they hit the ground...They prefer white oaks over others and they started dropping here in NC about a week ago...I would find some that are dropping that are near bedding area as they will be looking for these and often you will stop seeing deer in the field where they have been feeding all summer because they are in the woods eating acorns...

RE: acorn questions
first off welcome to the sport. they will eat acorns as soon as they hit the ground they like them no matter what and in early season i always hunt timer in the morning and field edges in the evening (depending on the wind)

I've seen where deer bedded underneath white oaks in heavy thickets and just lay there and pick them up as they bounce off their noggin:D
