How many deer have you missed with bow?
 

Out of all the years hunting lets here about those misses. I still will never forget the 8 pt I missed in Green County. I grunted him in broadside at 8yds and it just seemed to easy. Upon drawing my bow back the buck stopped at 8yds and I notice my arrow wasnt on my tm hunter rest. As I let my draw down the buck looked up at me and took off. I didnt actually get a shot off but it was still like a miss to me. Two bucks that I shot I missed them both the first shot, but they allowed me to get a second shot and that was their mistake. Actually the misses I had I either didnt get a shot off or I arrowed them on the second shot. So I guess I been pretty fortunate. Practice makes perfect. Lets here about your misses.

If you count getting busted as a miss, then I' ve missed hundreds of ' em. ;)

About 10 years ago, I bought my second compound. I was using an Old Bear compound before that. Anyway, I bought a Jennings Carbon Extreme (75 pound, 32 inch draw). I liked that bow a lot. Anyway, I bought it September and wasn' t going to use it hunting till the following year. Anyway, I practiced with it a bunch up to 30 yards and got good with it. I didn' t however, shoot it close in. A friend of mine had the same bow and assured me it would shoot flat out to twenty though. I was hunting about 15 up in a tree and a deer comes in front of my stand about eight yards or so. So, I put the pin on him and let it go. Guess what, right over his back!!!!

That was only one miss, but was the most memorable. Total deer missed that I can remember is four.

Well I am batting 500, I missed the first deer I ever released [:o]on and killed the second:). No real story on the first miss, I knew the second I released I missed my anchor point and sailed it right over her back![:o]

I really do not care to mention the actual number....;)

...but I will say that it always seems to be bucks that I end up missing....

I don' t think I could possibly come up with that number for 25+ years of bowhunting. I' ll just say, two last year. But I' ve been successful on a lot, so I suppose the ratio is decent.

Off hand, two does (one last year) and two bucks.
One buck was a Texas ten point at 18 yards. Nice, nice deer. I didn' t actually miss, but I couldn' t come to full draw because my bow was making this horrible little sound on the draw I never heard before that hunt. Everytime I went to draw, the deer would look my direction-dead at me. In hindsight I wish I' d yanked it back and let the cards fall. But instead I decided if I let him feed off casually I might a crack at him tomorow with my other bow. Never saw him again.
Turned out my axles needed lubing. Darn little noise, nice time to show up!!

2 bucks...both 30yrds. went under one my 1st yr. and over one last year. This year was a center punch at 20yds.

Miss is a relative term...I ALWAYS hit SOMETHING:D:D;)

If you miss the same deer twice does it count as one or two?:D[:-]
