RE: Serious Broadhead Problem
I expect to be seeing all you "I don't like moving parts" guys joining me and others shooting more trad this year!;)

RE: Serious Broadhead Problem
I agree with GMMAT, why shoot moving parts?Fixed bladeshave a 0% chance of failing. I have never switched from my Thunderhead 100. If you are going to expandables, look at spitfires. Have seen some pretty good holes left in their wake.

RE: Serious Broadhead Problem
I'm no advocate of "No moving parts" as a rule of thumb......because I have COMPLETE trust in my compound bow....which has a LOT of them. It just seems hypocritical to say "I don't like moving parts" and still shoot compounds. THAT was my point.
If you're shooting modern equipment (compounds)....they've come a long way in the "dependability" dept. I trust mine implicitly. I think mechanical heads have come a long ways, too. When one fails me......I'll rethink my position. I won't let heresay or conjecture sway me into a BH choice. If my setup will allow the use of a mechanical head.....and I wish to maximize my cutting surface.....I'll shoot one without a moment's hesitation (along with millions of other satisfied archers). For my traditional setup....I wouldn't dream of it.....for obvious reasons. Good luck. |

Rage or Rocky Mountain Snypers.

Try the SMOKE broadhead...

rage 2 blade

RE: Serious Broadhead Problem
I've tried spitfires and had mixed results with all blades opening. They do fly nice though. Went back to fixed broadheads, Slick Tricks. Very nice broadhead.

RE: Serious Broadhead Problem
I don't like expandables. Slick Tricks is the only head I will shoot

RE: Serious Broadhead Problem
I'm gonna freak out everybody and shoot Rage 2 blades from my Black Widow recurve. [:-]:D
