Then go here and click on the questionaire and comments section at the very bottom and fill out this survey and tell them you are against the #4 approach of having a gun season the 3rd week in Oct. because it interferes with the start of what we ALL look forward to PRE-RUT, and you can also give them ideas to to implementon Doe population control. Wow that burns me!!! I am heated right now... If that passes I will absolutely sh!t. I made the suggestion of "for every buck you kill (buck limit is 2) then you MUST harvest a doe to match it.

That's the general response I get from all my friends when I tell them what our DNR wants to do concerning "Population Control"...A gun season the 3rd week in Oct. is not the answer, and will only create a bigger problem. Bow vs. Gun debate.

I completed the survey. I'm unsure on the gun season in October, but if they open it up, you can bet I'll be out there with the shotty. I'm a deer hunter, not exclusively a bow hunter. The state wants more deer dead, they don't have to cater to one form of hunter over the other.

I suggested allowing over the counter sales of permits during the late doe season, and opening bow season two to three weeks earlier.

I completed survey. I would agree with opening bow season earlier and otc tags late season. Shooting a doe before taking a buck would also work although this is not a favored thing among many..

I really just hope they dont throw a dang gun season in the middle of bow hunting season.. Geeeez!!!!

State Farm is head quartered in Bloomington as well.

I filled out the survey also. I don't know if they wanted to hear from non-residents but filled it out anyway.

dun. boy did that feel good to give my opinion on that...i'm sure they will get a kick out of reading mine.

i recommend moving the gun opener to start the first weekend in dec and the second season the second weekend. thrid weekend muzzleloader and the lateseason normal. that will accomplish the goal of killing pregant does but won't allow the guns hunters to mess up the rut. extending the late season isn't the answer. to cold for most guys and to many buck dropped antlers.

It seems everyone who is posting is from illinois. I live in Arkansas and have been coming to illinios for the last 20 years. The tags have increased so much I can's afford to bow hunt and gun hunt, I have to pick which I will do. I would bet they have ran off alot out of state hunters with the price of the tags.The dnr is making a mistake if they change anything, Illinois is the best place in the nation to hunt.
