How far away were you shooting?

Which pin were you using?

What size is it?

Im shooting an HHA sight and have been for the past 2 years. It's extreamly bright but it does have a "dimmer", in other words you turn a little knob on the sight and it is no longer as bright. If you have one it's great for sunny days, but if you don't maybe you could rig something out.

Yes they can be so bright that they actually look blurry. Usually it doesnt happen except for the sites with the afterburner lights. You may need to actually cover over some fibers if its a prob or use the dimmer if it has one.

I could imagine that at low light conditions......a .030 (.029?) pin could have a "halo" effect that would appear to cover a LOT of your intended target (at that range).

I'd suggest getting a smaller pin......if you have time before your season begins.

Steven:

The only sizes I've ever heard of are .029, .019 and .010.

There may very well be other sizes.....I just haven't heard of them.

The smaller the pin.....the less of your target it will cover. Lots of people use larger pins for shorter range targets and smaller pins for more distant targets. My sight incorporates .019 for my top two and .010 for my bottom 3.
