RE: How they make Compound bows on TV tonight!!!
ORIGINAL: DropTine249 Its a pretty cool little segment, so far. After that guy dipped his hand into the camo dip, I thought of a million things I would like to have camo. Think about the guys that work there, I bet they bring in personal items and jsut dip them, free of charge, all of the time. It was a pretty brief segment though. |
RE: How they make Compound bows on TV tonight!!!
dont worry if you didnt get to watch it. IMO you missed nothing.
they didnt show anything special...just basic assembly...which im sure most all of you...well..some of you ;) can probably imagine or has done...riser, limbs, cams, string...BOOM you got a bow...if you blinked, you may have missed the segment |
RE: How they make Compound bows on TV tonight!!!
Yeah it was pretty quick...not bad thou. Did you see the "Death Grip" he had on the bow while he was shooting it? That of course was after he finally pulled the thing back...i kept thinking he was going to hit the chronograph[&:]

If you realy looked and payed close attention there was a lot going on in the background and cut aways. Remember thatsegment wasn't filmed for the benefit of us........it was filmed for the person who wouldn't know what side of the bow to hold upright.;) I'll be sticking my hand in the camo tank the week after next. :) |

ORIGINAL: Matt / PA I'll be sticking my hand in the camo tank the week after next. :) The process is kind of violent actually so you are limited to what you can camo. It's not just a matter of sticking it through the film and presto out the door camo! LOL I only know the basics right now but I do know the final process involves 160ish degree heat ovens which can wreck certain gear. Finished rifle scopes for example would have the seals ruined by the heat. Generally anything fancy or electronic is dipped in the pre assembly phase where you are dealing with just a camo shell that is made into something more delicate. I'll find SOMETHING to sneak in there though. LOLEven if I have to push Pat (Bowtech Shooter) in.[:-]:D |
