75th Annual "Be Proud of What You Shoot!" thread
Guys,
Along with Matt's and Rob's annual posts I always like to throw something up here about being proud of what you shoot. All of us have different experience levels and different expectations. We should all keep that in mind when checking out some of the harvests posted on the forum this season. Shooting a doe or a small buck is enough of a challenge for some folks and we should give them credit for putting their time in. So, don't be afraid to post about the animals you have taken. Be Proud of What You Shoot! :) |

Shoot & be proud, or don't shoot at all. No shame in either decision.
Let's keep the phrase "it's only a" out of all the success story threads. Say it proud when telling what you shot. |

And please... No comments about " why didn't you give him another year." No one wants to be ridiculed for what he shoots.

75th annual? Holy smokes.
:D Believe me if I drill a nice fat 6pt the first day of PA's seasonwith my longbow, you'll all get sick of seeing my smiling face sitting behind it. :) Shoot what you want, have fun, and don't feel like you have to answer to anyone for your choices. (Unless it's illegal of course LOL) We're all different people with different goals and expectations. The thread that disturbs me a little is the one you see every year "He's not a monster, BUT I got one!" No need to quantify your accomplishment, or feel you need to temper the mood with a statement out front........just come on and show us your animal and be proud of it! |

And another thing.....if ya'll are in the contest, DON'T adjust your standards just to try to "fit in"....It's just not that important. Shoot what you would normally shoot, and be proud of it! :) |

Indian style, right? ;):D:D |
RE: 75th Annual "Be Proud of What You Shoot!" thread
Well said, especially the part about the guys in the contest. Hunting is as much a personal activity as it is a social one, so shoot what makes you happy at a personal level and let everyone else know that you are happy. I bet they will be happy for you too!
