question quik....are these deer in your spotting adventures on land you CAN hunt?? DO you hunt them?? or just out there having a good time seeing bucks?? just curious...i know its somewhat EASY to drive around spotting and find some SLUGS....getting permission to hunt is a much different story....just curious...oh ya....do you need a partner?? ;)

you guys give me inspiration thats for sure....im getting sick and tired of the same ole same ole on the land i can hunt....pemission is either GIVEN no questions asked...or you cant hunt...thats all i find...ever. i actually have better luck on SGLs...atleast there i can WALK farrrr away and get away from other guys...not on the small woodlots though....as much as i love PA, i get fed up with it as well....

the whole states gunna be covered in leases and sharpshooters in the ubran areas before long...i understand that land owners OWN the land and can do what they want....but its getting old...

Good vid Fran...first bucks a Bruiser. Green Day aint so bad, one of the best 90's puck bands thats for sure....too mainstream now though. Can't go wrong with CCR, GNR and Metallica Will, but they aint Nirvana ;)

Mauser - I only spot in areas where I can hunt. That said, I still can't go everywhere. I've been doing this for 15 years now, so I've gained access to more hunting land than I could ever hunt in 10 lifetimes... But that's just the way I've always hunted - I really don't like hunting the same places year after year after year, so it's a constant revolving-door of hunting land. So yeah, every deer you see in this video - I can get in a tree within a mile, as the crow flies.

As far as getting permission goes, you've gotta play your cards right, and you can't be afraid to get the bad news. Explain to the landowner that you work full-time, and that you live far away. Explain to him that you already have 20 other stand sites mapped-out, and you're hoping to maybe spend 2 or 3 sits in his land (max). Bow only, nice buck only. Be very clear on that.

People are generally afraid of the guy who tries to come in and take over the place. They're usually a little more settled when they understand the real parameters of what you're trying to do on their land. Also, they're inclined to protect their gun hunting for family/friends, so you have to be really clear that you won't try to disrupt their status quo.


Dan - that isn't the new light. The new light sucks, and I'm returning it. Ugh. It's advertised as 20 Million CP, but in reality, it's about 500,000. It's not even half as bright as my other 12v cord lights.


Kyle & Buckmaster - For my next video, I'm gonna do a How-To tutorial on how to fill out a deer tag, since you two have never filled one out before. :eek: Buckmaster, are you even gonna be allowed to go hunting this year? [:@][8D]



WV - I haven't talked to that farmer yet, but I already have access to the neighboring parcel.

Caleb - I was never much of a Nirvana fan. Not sure why, but they never really didmuch for me.

thanx quik...seems some guys have the special "touch" for gaining permission....i usually get the "no you cant hunt here" im good with people and approach them nicely and all that...thank them and everything...but then again maybe im TOO picky...only knock on a few doors a year on the land that LOOKS the best from the road in the daylight....so im sure 100 people a year knock on their doors...

did get permission from a farmer up here at school to groundhog hunt...asked if i could groundhog hunt and maybe bowhunt...he thought for a minute and said well, you can come groundhog hunt...a few other guys asked but never came back....so im THINKiNG if i show up and do some chuck shootin, show him im a good guy, stop in and BS a bit every day and let him get to know me, i might get a crack at bowhunting! maybe even ask if i can predator hunt...he was an old timer and looks like he got a GOOD bit of land and about the only woods on the block...soooo i'll be back next week with the 22-250....going to be tricky groundhog hunting, but i'll pull it off...ideally id sit on the road edge and send them past his houses and barns upto the hillside...but i can sit on the hillside and shoot them upclose and personal...land is covered in groundhogs which tells me noone hunts them...up here theres a ton of hog hunters...but i think alot of guys try my angle of groundhog hunting to gain deer hunting permission but never show up to "work"
