Best of the "fast" bows?

I was wondering if there was a consensus on who made the best of the fast bows? Say, 330 fps or faster...

I know that narrows it down, but many bows seem to be rated to 315 or more. Even my lowly Tomkat was advertised at around 310 or so.

You won't find a consensus on any subject here:D...especially bows.

I know, but this way I can stir the pot and still appear to be an uninvolved party:)

Maybe, in the interest of making this thread work, we should come up with a legitimate list of the bows out there that are on the list for this category. I am sure with all of the different opinions we have in here, we could at least get a list and then go from there.

Not to stir the pot, which might be the intention from the thread starter.

I will nominate the Darton Pro 3000
If you haven't shot this bow yet, give it a try. Freaking Awesome!
Just my.02

i have not shot is yet but i would like to but the new Martin Firecat X around 340 ibo. price makes it very appealing.

No, I was just thinking about the future- perhaps now that my form is getting settled in a little and my groups are starting to tighten some I could buy another bow.

Not that many on this site will let you forget about them, but the 82nd and the 101st by Bowtech.

I shoot the 101 and it has been great for me.

Also in that group, the Allegiance, which is a super hunting bow, so I am told. I believe I may have to get an 09 if they put on out.

I shoot the elite GTO and love it. ibo of 350. GERM has the new gt500 and he seems to really like it as well

Has either of you shot the Z28?

I have no experience with the newer Elites, so I can't add them to my decision.

As far as overall smothness of draw in conjunction with speed, at 70# my vote would have to be for the X-Force. I am bu no means a PSE fan at all, but this is one nice bow.

At 60#, I would say my 82nd ranks up there with the big dogs.

I notice that the brace height on the X-Force is 6 inches or so- does this make it alot harder to shoot?

That's one of the reasons that I like my 101, you get speed and brace ht.

Yeah the Dream season is 6". I shot one a bass pro about a week ago. Hard to give a very good assesment of it since I'm a 31" draw and it was set to 28" but that thing was bad fast.

Got an xforce hf, 6" brace. Extremely accurate and fast. With the 6" brace, if I am out of form the thing will bite me pretty good. If i grip it and put torque on the bow, it bites. If i dont get my arm straight out from my shoulder with my elbow in the correct position, it bites. The consistency of my form from the shoulder forward has become tenfold better because of this.

The dream season is a 7 inch brace, and are you sure you shot one at bass pro R700? As far as I know, PSE will not sell any pro series bows to anyone but non-corporate pro shops.

I really, really wish that Bowtech would offer the 82nd with 50lb limbs.:( I could get the 50-60lb model, but it'll never be cranked past 55lbs, if that. Just not enough muscle here:D.

So shoot it at 50. I have the 101 in the 60 to 70 and with the switch to LH, I am just now up to 63. I don't plan on going much higher. I never shot more than 64 with my Commander. Don't count it out just cause you can max it.;)

I know, it's just a little neurotic OCDthing I have about needing to shoot my bows maxed out. I'm sure I could get over it.;)

X Force was the fastest bow tested in Bowhunting magazine, although it was only 1 fps faster than the 82nd.
I have not seen reports of limb problems with the X Force, or PSE, like I have withthe other brand.
I have twoX Forcesbecause they are not only fast, but accurate.

I shoot a Mathews LX around 280 fps and at 40 yards the arrow through the deer and sticking in the ground before the deer knows what happened....Speed is overrated IMO.

Don't discredit the Hoyt Katera.

The Z28 has caught my eye as of late.

Same here man, I love those stats. If I could find one anywhere locally Id drive a pretty good ways to get a chance to shoot it. 340+ IBO with a 8" BH...seems awesome. But then money comes into play and halts any bow plans, lol.

Another vote for a GT500 or a Z28. They are both great bows and the GTO is also a great shooter and can be had for a pretty good price right now.
