Not good news[:@]
If they ban baiting there will be most likely be alot more violators in the U.P, and most likely quite a few less license's sold. Baiting deer is big in the u.p. Our deer heard up here will really dwindle down, with the harsh winters they need the extra food people put out to survive the deep snow during the winters. It sure will change the deer movements and its fine by me. maybe with a ban on baiting all the bucks wont go nocturnal. |
RE: Michigan Boys Get ready to bend over
Well, banning baiting is not a bad thing. The problem is any time you make a big change to a rule it will upset many people, especially those that are affected by that rule. In the long run I believe it will make the herd less "tame"

Germ , What is it route 76 that goes from Toledo to Saginaw? Every exit has caged bucks with B.C. scores and prices listed accordingly.
And every "Stop & Rob" has bags of deer corn and sugar beets for 250 miles. What a Joke It really is.[:@] |
RE: Michigan Boys Get ready to bend over
Hopefully the Mi DNR does not freak out like the Wi one did when it first hit.

If we would have had 1 5 gallon bucket rule and followed it, we would be fine. Like some have stated, I have seen beet piles that could feed Africa:eek: |

RE: Michigan Boys Get ready to bend over
Huntingson, The difference is the number of hunters and the size of Michigans state lands. Every tree has a bait pile behind it. I am sick and tried of hearing about the poor farmer not going to make any money so we can't end baiting!! Grow a crop you can sell then like corn you can ship out!!!! Farmers were suriving long before baiting ever started. If you wouldtake a random 15 hunters just pick them I would bet you 10 of them wouldn't know a scrape from a rub what a deer run looks like and hunt a swamp or a pinch point what do you mean, I just poor out some corn and beets and apples and carrots and cameere deer andwheat and a minerale lick and deer cocaine and salt block and the deer just show up I can hunt any where because where ever I poor all this out I see deer!!!! That is Michigans attitude and 3/4 of the hunters if you want to call them hunters think!! Ok deep breath enough bitching nobody listens any ways!!!! Walt
