Disapointing results

I was hunting Thursday and at 7:30pm I had a mature doe start her way down one of the trails I was watching over. When the doe got to about 18ydsshe lookedup right at me.She froze and we were in a face off. I held my eyes open and never blinked for at least two minutes. Never moved. She started doingthe "head wave" that they do trying to figure out what I was, stomped then off she went.

I must say that I am quite disapointed. I expected better results from the Predator camo. I wasn't out in the open, I had good background cover. I'm still going to wear the camo to futher test it out, but if I get more results like this I will be switching.

Your season starts early! Exciting story, even though it didn't turn out with venison. I'm ready to hunt.

If you had a facedown at 18yds for 2 minutes, she didn't know what you were.I'd say the camo worked.Maybe she caught your scent

It sounds as if she may have gotten a wiff of you. Did you consider that?

Of course its something that I considered. Ididn't start huntingyesterday. ;)

There was a constant breeze blowing from my right to left. The same direction she was coming from. If she smelled anything it was her hind end.

Strut, this has happened to be here in IL, and I knew I was as scent free as possible for early season, but she still smelled me....Someone told me that in the evening as the air is cooling, it will push your scent towards the ground, cool air is heavier than hot air...don't know if thats true or not but it makes sense.

Maybe she didn't. Thats why I said that I would still wear the camo to futher test it out. I've been in this position before with other deer to have them drop their foot then resume normal.

I could also be that she was not use to seeing something up in the tree and it spooked her
