Great post, Matt. I won't hold it against you that you play golf, either[8D]
Problem is thatI used to be good at BOTH.........for some reason archery skill doesn't go away without lots of practice. ;)
I do sort of enjoy being blissfully bad enough at golf to enjoy myself, fire a birdie now and then and not get too caught up in feeling like I should be shooting mid 70's every round.

If I suddenly sucked at archery/bowhunting as badly as I do at golf right now though I'd jam a pen in my neck.

After the weekend, I feel the same way Matt. My scramble partners were left scratching their heads. One hole, I would damn near drive the green the next I was hollering "four.....wait.....FIVE!!!!!":D

You are right on though, I don't mind my golf game slipping away, if archery did, I would be looking for that pen.

That was a good read. I liked how you invision the vitals beyond your aiming point. Myself and others I've talked to have in the past rushed the shot by getting the pin in a general area of brown and letting her fly. That extra 1/2 second it takes to make it right can mean the difference between celebration and severe frustration.

Thanks.........and FYI, I no longer fade or slice the ball and have been hammering the irons like I did years ago.
I'm glad to hear the game is better. I have a case of the high blocks off the tee right now[:@]. Fortunately my short game is as good as it's ever been. It's allowing me to scrap my way around the course and grind out some rounds. I feel like I could get it up and down out of a garbage can right now. Funny game this golf thing [8D]

Awesome post....its hard blocking out the adrenaline and staying in control when your pulling back at a great animal youve dreamed of getting for years now. Do NOT look at the head after the initial decision of shooter either.:Dtrust me, it helps lol.

three thumbs up on this one, should come in handy in a month or two.;)

Enjoy the moment, check out a flock of geese, or a squirrel, take in the sunset, anything to just soak in the moment, but whatever you do don't go doing the Triple Lindy off the end of the platform and chase after your deer!
Nice Back to SchoolReference.

Good read.
I always thought I needed a sports psychiatrist to control the rush when I spotted a deer. I have learned that the more you see the easier it gets. Although it still is a great rush just to have one within range.
