Thinking about new bow....

I am thinking about looking for a new bow. I won't be buying it BRAND NEW so I am curious what you guys recommend. I am wanting to spend abotu 300 fora bare bones bow used but it great condition. I like speed but want it to be quiet too.

The best thing to do is hit a proshop, and shoot a bunch of last years models, dont tell them what you have up your sleeve, find out what you like, and then watch the archery classifieds here and in your local papers etc...

another question.. I currently shoot 60# draw and have an easy time pulling it back and have my limbs maxed out... would it be better for me to go to 70# draw and have it set at about 65#? Also what should I be looking at for a brace height and all that jazz? I don't understand those measurements and what they do for me.

longer ata and brace height give a more forgiving bow, but shorter brace height will produce greater speed. It really depends on what your looking for.

I would go shoot as many bows in the shopsas you can to see which ones you like. Then I would start surfing the net to find the deals. I think the www.archerytalk.com classifieds has some of the best deals you can find. Ebay is a good source at times as well. I picked up my brand new '08 Ross Cardiac on eBay for $375 plus shipping.
