Just remember, ethics are a personal thing and the ethics on a computer change for many when actually in the woods.I like to refer to them as computer ethics. They are patrolled by the ethics police.[8D]

How many non-hunters are watching hunting shows;)
Go out and ask the first person you know(not lisa:D) who does not hunt, and ask them about Andy's shot.

We are harder on our own 99.9% of the time, does anyone really think a person who does not hunts cares what we do?
Go ask a few, ask them about a qrt to or away shot, see what they say;)

For those who say "Anti's care" well who cares[:-] They hate hunting period.

EDIT

Sorry mis-took viewing public as public. Still a good post:D
The antis actually believe we don't shoot them in the head so we won't screw up our mounts or racks.;)

The vitals change dramatically when an animal is facing quartering to.....even a tiny change towards makes a big difference. If one knowingly takes a quartering to shot, they better be dang sure that they are placing the arrow correctly or else they are being a smuck with no respect towards the animal they are hunting.

Actually, ETHICS are a personal OR societal thing, there IS an accepted grouping of HUNTING ETHICS, as far as not shooting beyond one's ability, taking shots with INTENT to make a quick and HUMANE kill, etc. Hunters' Education and the NBEF both try to instill a set of hunting ethics that will help ensure that hunters are hunting safely and quickly and humanely killing their quarry.

[blockquote]quote:

Did he Recover the Goat? Perhaps he knows his limitations and the actual scenerio unfolded slightly different than was filmed, angles can be deceiving.

Shouldn't we give the successful hunter, congratulations and not second guess his every instinct?
[/blockquote]

Yes. he recovered the goat. Did you see the angle? Let's just say it's one I don't think Andy had been practicing. I congratulate him on his success. But....he made a poor decision (IMO). It's one thing to make a bad shot. It's another thing to know you're making a bad shot....and shooting, anyway.

Did you see the recovered goat? I didn't. I saw him say something like it was a successful hunt or something another. He did ask how was he supposed to get over there and recover.

Rick:

Very good question. Actually....the show did NOT show him recover that goat. But I happened to notice while they were showing photos....coming back to the show from commercial, that there was a photo of Andy (harvest photo) with the goat. I assumed it was the same one.

The "stick n Pick" REDUNDANCY got really old. And I don't know if anyone else got his "humor" re: the elk. He said watching the elk reminded him of his first Hank Williams Jr. concert.

(They stayed on the elk as it was on its feet until it started to wobble.....ad nauseum. I have NO ISSUES with showing that footage. It's real. The "joke" was tasteless in my eyes is all.)

MY issue.....just a personal opinion of the show. I'll just not watch it.
